Meet Ed Eberlein

Ed Eberlein, owner of Signs by Ed, began painting signs and custom lettering in 1981. Ed began his career in Sacramento custom painting and pin-striping semi trucks at Hayes River City truck stop. His attention to detail and quality artwork quickly earned him a reputation that resulted in satisfied customers from nearly every state in the nation. Ed moved to Iowa in 1996 and has been working from Manilla IA since 2001.

Todd Hanson of Toledo instructed Ed in the art of custom hand painted graphics that left no brush marks. Eventually, he incorporated sponge techniques in graphics and striping as well as dry brush artistry. The influences of many have allowed Ed to create his own unique style.

Ed loves colors and has an ever evolving style which means that no two pieces are ever 100% alike. He is always learning from others work as well as industry publications.

Creating truck graphics and lettering for over the road trucks is Ed's first love but he has expanded his talents in to many areas including murals, vinyl lettered signs, business signs, custom painted graphics, pinstriping and more.

Ed is a one man shop and intends to stay that way, he prides himself on offering same day service when ever possible.
